Akakia Publications carries 40 years of book publishing experience, but its old site looked and functioned like it was frozen in 2011.

• Dense, icon-heavy navigation sat over a busy background pattern of book spines, competing for attention with promotional banners for a lottery-style writing contest and a TV segment
• Empty grey placeholder tiles sat next to real products, with inconsistent formatting and no clear categorisation across listings
• Royalty terms were not explained anywhere on the site, leaving first-time authors to guess how much of their own book's profit they would actually see
• There was no way to get an instant quote, so every serious enquiry required manual back and forth before a prospective author knew what anything would cost

Kickass Online rebuilt the brand and the platform together, rather than treating the redesign as a coat of paint over the same structure.

• Rebrand: A completely new logo and a clean, leaf-based green identity replaced the dated look, carried consistently across the homepage, shop, and every product page.
• Instant quote calculator: A live cost calculator was built directly into the homepage, so a prospective author can enter page count, size, and copy count and get a real number in seconds, not days.
• Transparent royalty messaging: The 70% net profit split was explained openly and in detail, including exactly what gets deducted, replacing guesswork with real transparency.
• Full-service breakdown: Ten individual services, from typesetting and cover design to ISBN allocation, copyright registration, and Amazon distribution, were laid out with clear icons so authors could see exactly what a-la-carte flexibility actually meant.
• Full e-commerce rebuild: A dedicated WooCommerce shop was built to hold hundreds of published titles across dozens of genre categories, with filtering by category and price, replacing the empty placeholder tiles and inconsistent listings of the old site.
