Purpose & Legal Framework
Kickass Online Ltd ('KO') is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. This policy is made pursuant to the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (HASAWA 1974), the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and all other applicable UK health and safety legislation.
Responsibilities
- Directors have overall legal responsibility for health and safety at KO.
- A competent person has been appointed to assist in meeting legal obligations: Panagiotis Zmpigknief Zavatzki, Director. This individual has received appropriate H&S training.
- All managers are responsible for ensuring H&S is managed effectively within their teams.
- All employees and workers have a duty under HASAWA 1974 s.7 to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others, and to cooperate with KO's safety measures.
Risk Assessment
- KO will carry out suitable and sufficient risk assessments as required by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
- Risk assessments will be reviewed annually, after any significant incident, or when working practices change.
- Findings will be recorded and communicated to relevant employees.
Display Screen Equipment (DSE)
- As a digital agency, virtually all employees use display screen equipment (DSE) as a significant part of their work. KO will comply with the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992.
- All DSE users will receive a workstation assessment, including for home working setups. Assessments will be repeated if working arrangements change significantly.
- KO will meet the cost of any corrective eyesight tests and a contribution towards spectacles prescribed specifically for DSE use.
Remote and Home Working
- Employees working from home remain covered by this policy.
- A home DSE self-assessment must be completed and returned to HR before remote working commences and whenever the home working setup changes materially.
- KO reserves the right to carry out a home workplace visit (with the employee's agreement) where a risk is identified.
Accident Reporting and RIDDOR
- All accidents, near-misses, and work-related ill health must be reported to the competent person on the day they occur and recorded in the accident book.
- KO will report to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) any incidents required to be reported under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR 2013), including: deaths and specified injuries; over-7-day incapacitation injuries; dangerous occurrences; and certain occupational diseases.
First Aid
- Adequate first aid equipment and at least one trained first aider (or appointed person) will be maintained at each KO premises.
- The location of first aid equipment and contact details for first aiders will be clearly displayed.
Emergency Procedures
Emergency evacuation procedures, fire marshal details, and assembly points will be communicated to all employees on induction and reviewed annually.
Training
H&S training relevant to each role will be provided on induction and refreshed periodically. Records of training will be maintained by HR.
Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually by the competent person and a Director. Last reviewed: May 2026.
