Purpose: The Intellectual Property Rights Policy at Kickass Online Ltd (KAO) is designed to protect the intellectual property of the company, its employees, and its clients. This policy clarifies the ownership, use, and protection of intellectual property created during the course of employment.

Scope: This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and consultants of KAO.

Policy:

  1. Ownership of Intellectual Property: All intellectual property created by employees during the course of their employment, including inventions, designs, software, artworks, and documents, is the property of KAO, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
  2. Protection of Intellectual Property: Employees are responsible for ensuring the confidentiality and protection of KAO’s and its clients' intellectual property. This includes adhering to all confidentiality agreements and data protection policies.
  3. Disclosure of Inventions and Creations: Employees must disclose any inventions or creations relevant to KAO’s business to the management. KAO will decide on the further development and use of these inventions.
  4. Use of Third-Party Intellectual Property: Employees must respect the intellectual property rights of others. This includes obtaining the necessary permissions for the use of third-party intellectual property and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
  5. Intellectual Property in the Public Domain: Employees should not disclose or use any information that is confidential or proprietary to KAO or its clients, even if it seems to be in the public domain.
  6. Leaving the Company: Upon leaving KAO, employees must return all materials containing intellectual property and must not use or disclose any confidential information belonging to KAO or its clients.
  7. Training and Awareness: Employees will receive training on intellectual property rights and the importance of protecting IP. This training will cover the legal aspects and the impact of IP on the business.
  8. Policy Enforcement: Violations of this policy may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including legal action and termination of employment.
